Star Wars |
This is a pretty accurate port of the NES game, it throws you into a pretty large world and plays kind of like a non-linear version of Mega Man, basically it's got a high emphasis on jumping from one small platform to another and shooting. |

Wonderboy in Monster Land |
The 2nd of the Wonderboy games and here we have the start of Wonder Boy's progression of including RPG elements, as well as the new medievel theme that would become the series staple. Wonder Boy in Monster Land was ported to many different formats with varying success but the MS version was the only Console version to remove that big ugly bar that took up 1/3 of the screen on the left side. |

Legend of Illusion |
This is another Tec Toy port from the Game Gear and is the 3rd and final Illusion game on Master System, I placed Legend a little bit lower than the other games in the series because I feel whilst very good it's a bit of a step backwards, it's lacking some of the more interesting ideas from Land, and is way too easy in comparison to it's predecessors, this iteration also marks a departure for the series as it removes the hop and bop gameplay replacing it with a projectile based attack (soap throwing) |

Chuck Rock II |
After the poor port of the original Chuck Rock Core pulled out all the stops for the sequel making it look great and managing to keep all it's best features intact, the platforming is fun, and there's some wonderfully nice touches with the clever puzzles involving animals. I actually prefer this version to the Mega Drive port as it's much more restrained, with a simple more endearing art style as opposed to the cluttered and ugly looking MD levels. |

Sonic Chaos |
The 3rd Sonic game for the Master System Sonic Chaos is great fun while it lasts, there a load of new power-ups thrown in such as the rocket and spring shoes which are great fun and help to give more identity to the game, unfortunately though it's a little bit too short and easy, |

The Newzealand Story |
Many people out there have fond memories of this game, the cutesy graphics and flying around on the platformers made it stand out as a classic platformer, it would've placed higher but this port is unfortunately very difficult in that it only gives you one credit to do the entire game with! there's also a few inacuracies here an there, such as the whale boss which no longer eats you, the boss battle instead becoming just a basic shooting match. |

Ghouls N' Ghosts |
The Master System port of Ghouls N' Ghosts is a strange one as there are many changes that have been made to the game, purists will be horrified to know that in this version you no longer commit to your jumps having the ability to turn in mid air, this along with a slower pace, and new upgrade items which include one that gives you a permanent extra hit point have the effect of making the game much more easy and accessible. Those who are fans of the Ghosts N' Goblins series may dislike these changes whilst many who struggled before may find they prefer this version. |

California Games |
Play through a variety of different sports in single player or multi ranging from skateboarding to surfing. California Games has become an bit of an enduring classic for the sports genre, probably due to it's general uniqueness and fun multi-player. |

Bubble Bobble |
Fantastic port of the arcade game with excellent graphics and sound and all the gameplay intact, must've been one of the very best home ports the game recieved for the time. |

Asterix - The Secret Mission |
I don't think that Asterix and the Secret Mission is quite up to the high standards of it's predecessor mainly due to the fact that whilst the level design is still very good the controls are noticibly more sluggish and there's more of an element of slowdown, the new double jump and run abilities do however help a great deal to make up for the controls so it's still far from all doom and gloom where this sequels concerned. |

Battletoads in Battlemaniacs |
Battlemaniacs was sent off and reviewed by magazines in the UK but for some reason never actually released, Tec Toy however came to the rescue and managed to get hold of the code and give it an official release in Brazil, and we're lucky they did as the game must be one of the most impressive games for the system, with some of the greatest music and graphics of any MS game released. The game plays excellently and would've placed higher but unfortunately a few levels are missing music which gives an unfinished feel to the game. |

Solomons Key |
Very nice port of the puzzling classic where the aim is to get to the key and then get to the exit, unfortunately only released in Japan and I believe issues pertaining to the number of cartridge pins means that it can only be played on the Japanese version of the Master System. |

Mortal Kombat 2 |
Apart from a choppy frame rate Mortal Kombat 2 is extremely impressive and somehow still retains a lot of the feel and playability even in a 8-bit version. must be a real feat of programming for the machine. |

Golden Axe |
Another port to the Master System that many people would never have believed possible, magazine reviewers of the time were astounded at what had been achieved when they first saw this and delivered much praise, unfortunately this only lasted a few months before the MD version came out and blew it away. still definately stands as a really commmendable effort. |

Ultima IV |
This is a very classy port of one of the all time greatest western made RPG's of the period, the graphics and artwork have been overhauled and the interface is now much simpler than before, this version also has less cut out as opposed to the NES version. it's a very nice, idealistic game and really shows the difference in styles between the early western and Japanese RPG's of the period. |

Micro Machines |
Race around everyday locales in miniature cars, great fun in multi-player as well as single, Micro Machines is an enduring classic that's still played today. |

The Lucky Dime Caper |
Another Disney game handled by Sega, and again the graphics and sound shine through in the same way as they do with Castle of Illusion, this however is where the similarities end as the actual gameplay of Donald Duck's outing is the antithesis of that found in the Mickey games, here we have a more skill orientated platformer with no real puzzle element, it's just you, the enemy and a load of treacherous jumps and it can get difficult, anyone who finds themselves thinking the Mickey games are too easy and wants to sink their teeth into a game with a real challenge need look no further than the Lucky Dime Caper. |

Road Rash |
Probe did another impressive job squeezing Road Rash onto the Master System, the game's as deep and exciting as ever, the only possible problem I see with it is that it seems to start off a bit easy and it's a while before it becomes challenging. |
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
Kenseiden |
Classy platformer that's deep and rewarding, Kenseiden really grows on you over time with it's great atmosphere and moody music, it has a unique feel to it and is just generally well designed all round. |
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
Golden Axe Warrior |
Golden Axe Warrior is pretty much a Legend of Zelda clone for the Master System and it's very well realised, one thing I really like about this game is that after killing monsters in an area they don't ever respawn, this really helps to give you the feeling that you're slowly cleaning up the world, not to mention the fact that the same monsters aren't a constant annoyance no matter how many times you kill them. |
