What we thought

Chris

"Graphically this has some very vibrant colours and its nice to look at, there's also some nice effects in the game, such as transparencies and a snow effect on the outside hub, but as Rich says, very samey apart from the odd level you can pick out. Music is very repetitive to be honest, in fact a lot of the elements here are repetitive truth be told. I don't want to hate it too much though as to be honest I feel like its a nice enough game, I think my kids would enjoy playing it for a while but they'd probably get bored not long after"

"This game was massively hyped up when it originally came out back in the day, and I do feel that it was always overhyped, it has a bit of a meandering feel to it, it doesn't feel focused and its also a bit over-long too. However there are certainly some good points to the game play, the stretching is a somewhat interesting gimmick and its fairly rewarding to search through the levels for secrets and such. Graphically I think it looks nice, it has a very distinctive look, a look that very much represents a time in gaming here in Europe and of which is very reflective of the Amiga hardware itself. Whilst I like the way the game looks the levels can start to become a little samey after a while (with the Beanstalk and Snakes and Ladders levels being big exceptions). Where music is concerned I'm not that keen on it, I think its okay but frankly it starts to get on my nerves after a while! This game was billed at the time as being a console style platformer, and I think it succeeds there, but its not a top level console style platformer"
