Wing Commander III   Wing Commander III on 3DO
Quite possibly the best "Interactive Movie" style game ever made, probably due to the fact that the game was so well balanced between the movie character interaction sections and the action filled dog fight sections, it didn't hurt that the plot and cast were both high quality too. The cast were actually proper actors like Mark Hamil, Malcolm Macdowell and John Rhys Davies instead of the cheapy laughable actors starring in most interactive movies from the time.

Lemmings   Lemmings on 3DO
Lemmings is a strategy classic pure and simple, it was ported to many different machines and the 3DO version is as classic a version as any of the rest of them.

Samurai Shodown   Samurai Shodown on 3DO
After the Neo Geo version this was the next best port of Samurai Shodown, all the characters were there including Earthquake, as well as the zoom feature from the arcade, and all the blood was left intact. This was a fantastic alternative to the equally quality port of Street Fighter II the 3DO received.

Need for Speed   Need for Speed on 3DO
I remember that this got a lot of big press when it came out and was billed as being the 3DO's killer app, never before had there been a racing game that focused so much on being realistic like TNFS, it gave so many options (such as a time trial mode, numerous camera angles to choose from and an in depth replay function) fantastic next gen graphics and loads of nice touches such as stats for all the cars as well as videos of the real things in action.

Alone in the Dark   Alone in the Dark on 3DO
This game was massively important to the video game industry, pretty much creating the survival horror genre, it was tense, had clever gameplay, a great lovecraft inspired story and an excellent 3DO exclusive soundtrack. Resident Evil owes everything to this game, and plays and controls in pretty much exactly the same way. Unfortunately, probably due to the fact that the only machines it appeared on were the PC and 3DO, as well as the fact that the age of the game makes it's framerate less smooth than newer games of it's genre it never gets the credit it deserves.

Road Rash   Road Rash on 3DO
EA were really backing the 3DO during most of it's lifetime, they released not only most of their new games on it first, but made updates to many of their classic licenses such as Road Rash, the game absolutely shined on the more powerful hardware, and had an extremely impressive soundtrack to boot, including official songs from Soundgarden and Therapy.

Return Fire   Return Fire on 3DO
Return Fire, another classic original 3DO game that, along with The Need For Speed and Space Hulk ended up getting ported to the more popular machines of the time later on, the premise is simple, find your opponent's flag and take it back to your base using an assortment of different vehicles, this simple premise created an addictive multiplayer experience and an enduring classic.

Space Hulk   Space Hulk on 3DO
Space Hulk was one of the very first games where I experienced real tension, the genestealers really seemed to act together as a pack and the brilliant quality sound really added to the atmosphere, with it's eerie noises mixed in with the shouts of your comrades for help. The game is not easy by any means and you need to be at least slightly adept at strategy games as well as first person shooters to survive even the early levels, but the sheer level of depth and quality in this game, another 3DO original I might add, means taking the time to master it is time well spent.

Street Fighter II   Street Fighter II on 3DO
When originally released this was the version of Street Fighter II to own, the graphics were beautiful, and were well above what the 16-bits versions offered, the usual great Street Fighter 2 gameplay was intact and not only that but the music quality was nothing short of phenominal. Not until the much later Saturn version arrived did anything come close.

Star Control II   Star Control II on 3DO
This game is actually not only my favourite 3DO game but one of my favourite video games on any format ever. The whole world of this RPG/Resource Management/arena shooter was just so perfectly realised that few RPG's come close to it, the plot of earth's struggle to free itself from slavery had too many twists and turns, funny moments and interesting characters to mention, and the level of freedom in the gameplay was never seen before, you could pretty much go anywhere in the entirety of space that you chose. Another thing that I feel important to mention is that the 3DO had many improvements made to it over the original PC version with improved sound new voice overs and fmv sequences for all the major parts of the story, it was also the only console port the game ever received.
